Endosulfan Use ProhibitedIt is illegal to import, manufacture, or use endosulfan and formulations containing endosulfan in New Zealand. All unused and partially-used stock of endosulfan was required to be disposed of by 17 January 2010 (within 12 months of the Authority’s reassessment decision taking effect on 16 January 2009). What is Endosulfan? Endosulfan is a chemical that was used as an insecticide on crops and turf. The following products containing endosulfan were sold in New Zealand. These are no longer available, but old stocks may be found in farm sheds and elsewhere. ENDO 350EC Storing endosulfan outside the time limit? A person storing endosulfan (for disposal) is to advise one the companies listed below that they are holding stocks of the chemical and arrange for the company to pick up the substance for disposal. In the meantime (while waiting for pick up) they must have the substance stored securely. It is illegal to use it or dump it.
